Hublot was launched by the well-known watchmaker Carlo Crocco who left his family business that specialised in Breil watches. In 1976, he started the design process of a watch. After 3 years of development, the masterpiece was finally created. He named it Hublot. This watch was different than the regular watches as it focused on comfort through the rubber strap. In the 1980s, Hublot was presented in the Basel watch fare but it failed to attract the visitors' interest. But that was just the start. In 2008, Hublot was acquired by LVMH, after which several other collections were released. This gave the company an opportunity to develop its own chronograph movement along with an integrated column wheel at the side of the dial (UNICO). Over the years, Hublot has showcased maturity in its design. Hublot watches have always enjoyed the uncompromised precise movements. Its art of fusion is depicted through the relation between design, architecture, and functionality. Hublot has been known as one of the major investors in the marketing industry. In 2010, this company became the official watch brand for FIFA along with the official timekeeper for two football world cups and official watchmaker for Formula 1 race. In 2012, it joined hands with Ferrari. Every year, one or two Ferrari Special Series Watches are released that are showcased in the Ferrari event all over the world. Over the years, many famous people have become brand ambassadors for the Hublot watches. Right from athletes like Usain Bolt, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, and football star like Pel to famous singers and celebrities. The Rapper Jay-Z has always been a fan of Hublot, which led to their collaboration and release of the Hublot's Classic Fusion Shawn Carter watch. Hublot has gained popularity with its charitable work like the campaign for clean drinking water. This has resulted in immense popularity for the brand.
