While bright colours have become noticeably prevalent in watchmaking for quite a few years, until recently, the exciting hues have been reserved for the dials and the straps. On the other hand, Hublot tries hard to make its entire watches, case included, literally eye-popping. Moreover, the brand strives to showcase its movements and does it well by using sapphire crystals and materials such as SAXEM – Sapphire Aluminium Oxide and Rare Earth Mineral, produced by blending aluminium oxide, the essential component of sapphire, with rare-earth elements. Notable SAXEM-series watches were made available in Green as Big Bang MP-11 (2019), Spirit of Big Bang (2020) and Big Bang Unico (2024) and in bright Yellow Neon (Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic, 2023). Hublot continues the green theme this year and launches the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM.The new Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM is essentially the same model as the earlier Yellow Neon and other Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic references in coloured sapphire cases. The thoroughly polished, quite angular multi-part emerald-green-coloured case of the new model measures 44mm in diameter and 14.4mm thick, it is 30m water-resistant and features the distinctive bezel affixed by six signature titanium screws, integrated lugs, and sapphire crystals to protect the dial and on the caseback. The blackened titanium crown matches the movements tones, exposed under the dial crafted from the tinted sapphire crystal. Theres a transparent minutes track on the dials periphery, visible are the micro-rotor at 12 oclock and a large tourbillon at 6, both part of a familiar MHUB6035 manufacture automatic calibre operating at 21,600 vibrations/hour frequency and providing about 72 hours of power reserve. The new Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM can be worn on a green transparent or black lined rubber strap with the black folding clasp or buckle with Velcro closure. The watch is a limited edition of 18 pieces, available from Hublot boutiques and authorized retailers at CHF 210,000 or EUR 241,000.For more details, please visit hublot.com.
